The new 75,000 square feet design on the southern part of MCASD aims to offer substantially increased gallery space, establish a more inviting and clear entry, and strengthen the Museum's relationship with its coastal surroundings. Quadrupling the existing gallery space from 10,000 to 40,000 square feet, the design accommodates the display of MCASD's permanent collection and rotating exhibitions. As the Design Partner, responsibilities included overseeing the concept, programming, Coastal Commission approvals, as well as project design and detailing.
