Inspired by The historic, shared gardens in the Turtle Bay neighborhood, the experience of The Perrie begins at a private front garden which provides a moment of solace and transition into ones home. The garden grants a unique and altogether natural public face to the building while providing comfortable seating areas to the residents.  The quality of the private gardens continues at the rear of the building where a canopy of mature trees cast a serene dappled light into the lounge, dining, and gym areas.

The interior spaces of The Perrie are created in conversation with the gardens and the building’s architecture.  While formally the interior plays off of the primary, strong, simple architectural expression of the building, the refreshed / updated material palette references the garden through jewel tones and natural, handcrafted materials.

Within the residential units, this connection to the gardens is continued through the use of natural materials such as oak and stone, which imbue warmth and tactility.

In the amenity spaces, a neutral and welcoming backdrop was created with the existing oak trim and ‘Blue de Savoie’ French marble flooring brought to new life.  The lobby is set apart from the surrounding spaces by lining the walls with soft green, textured glass set in oak frames.  These panels create a gentle screening effect, separating the coworking and lounge space from the lobby.  Textural and handcrafted fabric and decorative elements are used throughout to continue the narrative of the garden in a wholly fresh and modern style.
